A great brass bell from the St Louis Cable Car Co. which at one time would have been in use in one of their cable cars or electric buses (examples of actual St L C C Co's vehicles in photos). This bell would have been used by the drivers to tell riders when they are starting or stopping (if you've ever been on a SF cable car, you know the sound!). These bells were saved and sold by local transit authorities when the trolleys were taken out of service. Probably made in the late 1890's-1920's.

Mounting Brackets are not perfectly flat but could still be mounted. Dimensions: 11.5" H x 5.25" W x 4" D. Hang the lever with the hole on top and pull down on it and it makes the best clanging sound. The perfect amount of patina.

Would be a great dinner bell!
